As a way to increase membership, should be actively solicit membership from the UTV/Side X Side groups?

They are on the same trails as us and our vehicles most of the time.

A couple of events now also allow them on the runs at their events.

Absolutely. We use some of the same trails and are all in this fight together. We need all the help we can get.

Cal 4 Wheel does not refuse membership to anyone. You do not even need to have a 4 wheel drive vehicle to be a member. All you need is $45 and you are in.

I think some of the UTV crowd see's us (Cal4) and a autmotive 4x4 club/association. I think some articles from people about how we protect their trails in the state also could help our membership numbers.
We do have a family in our club that has the UTV's. They come up to High Sierra Poker Run with us as well. They were at Molina also.

I agree Todd. We have ATVs in addition to our Jeep. When we go out riding with the people that we meet we always mention the effort that it takes to the trails open. Most of the time the other riders have no idea. The ATV club that we belong to in Arizona joined BRC to get help with the travel management plans that are threatening to close the area. We really do need to open ourselves up to not only ATV's and UTC's, but casual users as well. Again, most users don't know anything about access issues until the gate goes up.
