Mosaic

A pattern of vegetation in which two or more kinds of communities are interspersed in patches, such as clumps of shrubs with grassland between.

Motor vehicle

Any vehicle which is self-propelled, other than: (1) A vehicle operated on rails; and, (2) Any wheelchair or mobility device, including one that is battery-powered that is designed solely for use by a mobility-impaired person for locomotion and that is suitable for use in an indoor pedestrian area.

Mountain Pine Beetle

A tiny black insect, ranging from 1/8 to 3/4 inch in size, that bores through a pine tree's bark. It stops the tree's intake and transport of the food and nutrients it must have to stay alive, thus killing the tree.

Collaborative planning in which the purpose is to address land use planning issues for an area such as and entire watershed or other landscape unit in which there is a mix of public and/or private land ownership and adjoining or overlapping tribal, State, local government, or other Federal agency authorities.

The management of all the various renewable surface resources of National Forest lands for a variety of purposes such as recreation, range, timber, wildlife and fish habitat, and watershed.
