Public Land

Land or interest in land held in trust by the United States and administered by the Secretary of the Interior or Secretary of Agriculture, except lands located on the Outer Continental Shelf and land held for the benefit of Indians, Aleuts, and Eskimos. Examples are National Forests, National Parks and Monuments and National Wildlife Refuges. Land for which title and control rests with a government -- federal, state, regional, county, or municipal.
