Our 61st annual Convention!

Mike McGarity, Convention Coordinator

The Central District is excited for Convention 2020 to come back to this part of California. The Central Clubs have all been hard at work with the planning to ensure everyone who attends has a great time.

The venue is located in downtown Clovis. The Hotel Best Western Cole is across the street from the venue. There are several hotels in the immediate area. Walking distance to several restaurants and stores. Many small antiques shops to visit. Free parking is available all around the venue. Across 5th street is the Water Tower parking lot. This is the location for the local four-wheel drive clubs to have their information booths set up, vendor booths and 4x4 vehicle show. Just beyond the parking lot is the Rodeo Ground Parking Lot. This is where we have RV Parking. RV Parking is available pre-registration only. It is dry camping; which means no hook ups.

The Convention will kick off on Friday, February 14 with registration opening at 12 noon. Participants this year will be able to register as an individual or as a couple. Each person will receive an event bag with their own name badge. Friday evening will be fun with a special Win-A-Jeep presentation with Tony Pellegrino with hospitality and social time to cap off the night!

Saturday will be a full day kicking it off with our Life Member Breakfast and Foundation Meeting. Breakfast will include Scrambled Eggs, Potatoes, Sausage, Bacon, Biscuits & Gravy and Fruit. In the afternoon we will have a Win-A-Jeep debut / special presentation and General Assembly. During the entire day, convention goers can at any time go visit the club information booths, vendor booths and 4x4 rig show. Saturday night wraps up with our annual banquet! What a treat we have in store!! The amazing dinner will be provided by Anthony Freitas. Dinner will include Tri-tip & Rosemary Braised Chicken, Portuguese Green Beans, Garden Salad w/oil & Vinegar Dressing, French Roll w/butter and Tea/water/coffee station. The annual banquet will include a time to present awards, so please send your letters in before December 31! Saturday night ends with hospitality and social time over at the Best Western Cole hotel across the street. Raffle prizes can be picked up after the banquet or the next morning.

Sunday will be our new/old board of directors meeting.

We really tried our best to keep the cost of attending convention down this year. Our goal is to just break even. We would have liked seminars and/or workshops; however, the cost of the additional rooms would have increased the overall price to attend. Space is limited to both the Life Member Breakfast and Annual Banquet. We strongly suggest registering early.

We look forward to convention being a time to celebrate our accomplishments and remember those who have made Cal4Wheel what it is today. We realize we live in a world that is ever-changing. Seems that everyone is moving at lightning speed. In the midst of all this, we at Cal4Wheel must keep our Past, Culture & History; embrace our Present and prepare for our Future!
