Convention 2021 will be held at the Lamp Liter Inn in Visalia on February 19-21. Details are still being worked out, and we expect to have a lot of fun. Friday night is hospitality, which is part of your registration. Saturday morning you’ll have time to be part of or visit the vehicle show in the parking lot, along with various vendors who will be waiting for you to stop by. If you are planning to purchase items for your 4x4 or anything else that will be on display, please consider our vendors, who are supporting our association.
Our theme will be Hawaiian. We’ll have a costume contest, so start thinking about that. We’re hoping to have some entertainment after the banquet and awards ceremony.
We’ll have our annual business meeting on Saturday and possibly Sunday, then our banquet Saturday evening where we will be presenting BIG Thank You’s to our volunteers who chair our state events, honor our long term members and present the awards for the various categories including Club of the Year (the Lew Seipert award) and Member of the Year (the Cap Randall award). Be sure to get your entries in before the Dec 31 deadline. Check the Cal4Wheel website (cal4wheel.com/awards) for more details and entry requirements.
And lastly, we’ll be picking the winning ticket for the Win-A-Jeep program, along with drawing for the various other prizes. With tickets at only $5 each (or $20 for a book of 4 plus a bonus ticket for a separate drawing), the winner will be getting a very special Jeep. JEP Autoworks is the master builder for this year’s vehicle, so be sure to give a big Thank You to Josh Epstein. And remember to shop at the businesses who have donated items for the Jeep. During these trying times everyone is cutting back on spending, so these businesses have gone above and beyond to help make our Win-A-Jeep program a success. Support them as they support us.
The In Gear and the Cal4Wheel social media pages have listed the donors for the Win-A-Jeep, so you can see who our supporters are. A big thank you to all.
Thanks to the committees who have graciously volunteered to help with our Convention and thank you to all who attend and who will be pitching in to help.
Help is needed for the vendor show and the vehicle show, so if you are inclined to pitch in, please let me know. Just give me a call: Bonnie Ferguson at 661-943-9744.
We can always use help at registration and judges for the vehicle show. With a lot of helping hands, it will lighten the load for everyone. All help will be greatly appreciated.
This is YOUR Convention. Please join us at the Lamp Liter Inn on February 19-21, 2021. Greet old friends and meet new ones. Meet the officers of YOUR association. Have fun and support YOUR association’s goals of keeping lands open for all to enjoy.
